Satisfying Sushi Cravings at Kamon Sushi

It has been a while since I’ve written about food. Perhaps that means that I finally stopped eating out so much. Hah, not really.

I recently visited my boyfriend at work in City of Industry. Since he had an hour lunch break, we decided to go out to eat. So he brought me to the nearby Kamon Sushi. Luckily, it was during the afternoon on a weekday, so it wasn’t crowded inside. As a result, our waiter constantly attended us, although never to the point where it got irritating.

The Baked Langostino Roll, pictured in the main photo, was the best out of the three rolls that we ordered. It was absolutely delicious, and we both consumed it quickly. It contained crab meat inside and was covered by various other ingredients, such as smelt egg and green onions. One thing is to keep in mind was that it was a large portion- in case you don’t want to over-order when you’re at Kamon Sushi.

The second order was the Umami Roll, which I also recommend trying out. It had shrimp tempura, crabmeat, cucumber and avocado inside. If you’re sensitive to spicy flavors like I am, then beware: it had spicy tuna and spicy mayo on the outside. But it wasn’t too strong, and I was able to consume it- with a help of a glass of water!

Lastly, we ordered the Salmon and Mango Roll. I had high hopes for it. Mango is my favorite fruit, and I instantly pick anything mango-flavored. In addition, I love eating salmon.

However, this roll disappointed me. The yuzu Japanese dressing was too overwhelming. I was barely able to detect the mango. My main reason for ordering this roll was to taste the sweet mango flavor. I would skip this one if I were to eat here again.

But would I be willing to eat at Kamon Sushi again? I’m not opposed to it! If I find myself in the same vicinity again, I wouldn’t mind stopping by for food. We had great table service and our orders arrived in a timely manner.
